About

Based in Darwen, Lancashire.

Parish Digital builds a shared WordPress theme for parish and town councils in England. The business is in Darwen, Lancashire.

One theme, each council’s own site

Parish and town councils publish the same kinds of thing: agendas, minutes, councillors, finance, policies, and a way for a resident to get in touch. We keep that structure in one WordPress theme, and each council has its own content, colours and pages.

A shared theme means a fix to accessibility or security can be applied once, rather than rebuilt as a one-off for every council. The clerk still edits their own site. Training at launch is included in the yearly fee, and there is a person to email afterwards.

The price is the price on the pricing page. The services page lists what is included. The guides cover publication, accessibility statements, .gov.uk domains and cookies, in plain English.

Why councils use the same theme

  • The papers have a place

Meetings, finance, councillors and policies are the structure of the site. They are not a blog with the labels changed.

  • Accessibility is in the theme

We build following WCAG 2.2 AA standards. We do not add an overlay widget and call that the work.

  • A person answers

You email info@parishdigital.co.uk. Hosting, updates and backups stay with the yearly fee.

The sites to look at

Darwen Town Council is the flagship. Cliviger and Habergham Eaves are the parish examples. They are live sites.
